Light Layers and Long Relationships
Light Layers and Long Relationships
We have been working for 20 years with a family run factory in Kathmandu to produce our own label knitwear that, from the get go, has been all about organic yarns, fair trade and ethical sourcing.
Each piece is made on hand machines, hand dyed and hand finished by a team of almost 100, largely women, for whom this job provides the main income for their families. It is an enduring relationship and perhaps the one I am most proud of.
Each season we tweak the shapes and I think this may be our best yet.
It is all a palette of Sea Marl, Oatmeal, Dove and Pearl Blue. The Zuri continues to be our absolute best selling style, the cotton is perfect for this time of year and the neck frames every face in a flattering way. The Egg and Star shapes are perfect for wearing over a dress that would otherwise feel too summery right now and channels the seventies boho Daisy Jones & The Six vibe.
Wear it all with the brilliant unisex hemp scarves from Couleur Chanvre and a lot of jewellery.
We have been working with Rachel Ducker, local female entrepreneur and model for almost as long as we have been in business and on a soggy day last week we took her to a secret garden for a photoshoot. The ultimate professional, she worked through the rain and chill showing us how to rock these brilliant wardrobe staples. Another enduring relationship that I am very proud of.
