Newness At Last, Spirits Are Lifting

Cold it may be but we have fabulous new deliveries arriving and all of a sudden our spirits are lifting.

For the first time this week I ventured away from my black uniform of recent months and I felt better for it. So today we showcase some of our best-selling brands, coincidently all with a heavy dose of French influence, strong back stories and ethical credentials.

American Vintage (rather confusingly a French brand) can do no wrong with its light, lofty knits perfect for colourful layering along with Flotte, the cool French ‘raincoat in a bag’ brand.  Windproof, waterproof and fully sustainable Flotte want us to enjoy wet weather, to get out there and splash in puddles and become ‘pluviophiles’ (look it up).

The brand that made eco cool has to be Veja another French company producing sneakers with a conscience. A third of the styles are vegan and they pay twice the market price for their organic cotton and Amazonian rubber, in so doing supporting 620 families of rubber tappers. Last year Veja launched (in Bordeaux only for now) a cleaning, repairing and recycling service, completing their circular economy. I could go on but now need to bag myself a pair of the ‘Product of the Year’ (ISPO awards 2020, huge outdoor sporting thing) Condors please.

Oh and it may be time to start thinking about denim again, an easier, roomier, wider silhouette is emerging should the term ‘skinny’ send you running.
