Brand Focus: Diane von Furstenberg

One of our favourite brands at Collen & Clare, Diane von Furstenberg, has recently had a shake up; appointing famed Scottish Designer Jonathan Saunders as their new Chief Creative Officer.  Notorious for his exceptional eye for colour which is often shown in clashing combinations, it shouldn’t be a surprise that von Furstenberg has chosen him to fulfill the role, with both sharing a passion for a warm embrace of prints. By combining a mix of tones and silhouettes, Saunders has rejuvenated the brand,  evoking the ease of DVF’s original and iconic 1974 wrap dress, but in a more contemporary way.  “His incredible sense of colour and print is unique and so perfect to refresh the heritage of the brand” – Diane von Furstenberg.  

Perhaps the success of this collection comes from Saunders taking the time to understand the brands customers; their needs and emotional attachment to what the brand represents –  “I see a synergy with the people who have always believed in Diane and loved the clothes here, they’re strong women.
